Who we are
Chunk Creations Sp. z o.o., ul. Wspólna 36B, Wojcieszyce, 66-415 Kłodawa, Poland (KRS 0000934275, NIP 8971898829, REGON 520515612), is the controller of the data described here. For questions or requests, write to contact@chunk-creations.com.
Short version
- No cookies, no ads, no accounts.
- We count page views with Umami, which runs on our own server. It doesn't store your IP address and can't tell who you are.
- Vercel hosts the site and logs requests.
- If you write to us or book a call, we use what you send to answer you.
- Essays come from Medium, but reading them here sends nothing to Medium.
- Fonts are served from this site, and your colour mode stays in your browser.
Page analytics (Umami)
We run our own Umami instance on a server in Germany (Hetzner Online GmbH). When you open a page, the Umami script sends us:
- the page address and title, and the page you came from;
- your browser, operating system, device type, screen size and language;
- your country, region and city, worked out from your IP address.
Umami sets no cookies and doesn't store your IP address. To count visits, it hashes your IP address and browser details together with a salt that changes every month. We don't try to reverse the hash, and because the salt changes, it can't follow you across months or onto other websites. We look only at totals.
We use this to see which pages people read. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep the data for 24 months.
To opt out, block the analytics script (served from analytics.vps.inventorium.io) with any content blocker, or run localStorage.setItem("umami.disabled", "1") in the browser console on this site.
Hosting (Vercel)
Vercel Inc. hosts the site. To serve pages and block abuse, it processes request data: your IP address, browser, the address you requested, and the time. Vercel acts as our processor. Vercel keeps these logs only as long as it needs them to run and secure the service, as its privacy notice describes. The data may be transferred to the United States, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
When you write to contact@chunk-creations.com, we receive your address, your name if you give it, and your message. We use them to reply and, if you ask about working together, to prepare and run that work. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), or our legitimate interest in answering you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Our mail is hosted by OVH SAS in France, which acts as our processor. We keep the correspondence while the conversation or the work needs it, and after that only where the law requires it, for example for accounting.
Booking a call (Calendly)
The "Book a call" links open our booking page on Calendly, run by Calendly LLC in the United States. We are the controller of what you enter there (your name, email, the time you pick and anything you add), and Calendly processes it for us. We use it to hold the meeting and follow up on it. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep it while the conversation or the work needs it, as for email. Calendly may transfer the data to the United States under the safeguards its privacy notice describes. The meeting invitation names the video tool, whose provider handles the call under its own terms.
Essays (Medium)
The essays are also published on Medium. Our server fetches them and serves their images, so opening an essay here sends nothing to Medium. Links that lead to Medium take you to Medium's site, where its own privacy notice applies.
Your browser's storage
The site keeps your light or dark mode choice in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device. To remove it, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
Do Not Track
We don't respond to Do Not Track signals. To stop analytics, use the opt-out above.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or erase your data, to restrict how we use it, or to give you the data you sent us in a portable format. You can also object to processing based on our legitimate interest. Giving us your data is voluntary: without it we can't answer you or meet you. We make no automated decisions about you and don't profile you. Analytics data can't be linked to a person, so we usually can't find records that belong to you (Art. 11 GDPR). If you send details that identify them, we will act on them. You can also complain to the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes UODO).
Changes
When what we collect changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
